Veterinarian
Dr. Bruce Schatz was born and raised in Connecticut. He earned his undergraduate degree in Pathobiology at the University of Connecticut in 1981 and continued his education at Araneta University where he earned his veterinary degree. He completed his clinical rotation at Louisiana State University before entering into a one year internship at The New Haven Central Hospital. With an interest in emergency and critical care medicine he joined the staff at The Shoreline Animal Emergency Clinic where he practiced for several years. Dr. Schatz later returned to The New Haven Central Hospital as Director of Clinical Services where he supervised the internship program and managed their 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care service.
In 2002, Dr. Schatz acquired the Stratford Animal Hospital where he currently enjoys practicing. He is a member of the American Veterinary Association, The American Association of Feline Practitioners, The Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, The New Haven Veterinary Association, and the Fairfield Veterinary Medical Association. His leisurely interests include, nursing abandoned or injured wildlife, adventure travel, scuba diving, photography, and spending time with his family and pets.
